Zilveren geboortelepel, Moederliefde, G. van Velsen, Bolsward, ca. 1725 Thaise tempel The earrings are in theFrisian silver birth spoon topped with 'Motherly Love'. The spoon was made by the silversmith Gerard van Velzen from Bolsward. He was active from: 1721 to 1791. The spoon has a crowned horn as its maker's mark. (Voet 1974 336) Engraved on the spoon: Broer Piers Broersma born on October 4, 1835. His birth certificate from Wonseradeel indicates that he was registered on October 5 (page 102).
