Tu Duc had over 100 wives, but was unable to produce a male heir to the throne, so his adopted son, Kien Phuc, reigned after his death. Unfortunately, Kien Phuc only reigned for seven months before dying. He is also buried in Tu Duc's tomb. Tu Duc's tomb was well prepared and has more amenities than any other tomb in Vietnam.
