A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Harris studied at the Maryland State College, Princess Anne in Maryland, the University of Maryland and College Park. Later, he taught at the Margaret Brent High School in Helen, Maryland. His works have been exhibited at Atlanta University, the Wicomico Art League in Salisbury, Maryland, the University of Delaware, Maryland State College,
