The idea was that the man drawn would represent the Universal Church with arms outstretched to hold mankind. The Vatican City was established in 1929 and is the world's smallest state, and has a population of 800. Vatican City is home to St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, and the Apostolic Palace. The church is the largest of all Christian
