1893 Chicago Worlds Fair William Gladstone Ax Forestry ORIGINAL HISTORIC FAI4 PNR8 This piece was illustrated by"Gladstone's Ax." This is an original 1893 halftone print of Gladstone's Ax at the 1893 Chicago's Worlds Fair. The ax was on display at the Forestry Building and was from the home of British statesman, William Ewart Gladstone. Along with the ax is a pyramid of wooden disks and blocks which came from different countries. (Please note that, typical of halftone prints, there is printing on the reverse.)
